Betty Lucille Ash Goff, 79, of Elizabeth, WV, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 22, 2024.  She was born in Wirt County to the late Thomas Dorl and Eliza Jane Smith Ash and was the last of their 13 children. Betty was a hard worker with a reputation for her amazing hot rolls.  She worked at the Wirt County Jail for Sheriff Lloyd "Pudd" Boston; cleaned houses and businesses in Wirt County; worked at the Sandwich Shack and the Country Kitchen in Elizabeth and Liberty Truck Stop in Mineral Wells.  She would do anything for anyone in need.  She enjoyed baking and crafting but, most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her son Rodney (Melinda) Goff; grandchildren Rachael (Zach Tanner) Goff, Dakota (April) Matheny, Chantae (Johnathon) DeBerry, Robert (Brittany) Goff, Jessica Pappas and Amy Joy; great-grandchildren Remington, Carlie, Raeleigh, Aliyah, Aiden, Aimee, Rhett, Ruger, Laynee, Aubree, Jada, Damion, Jackson and Dana; son-in-law Brent Matheny and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the Parkersburg Care Center and Amedysis Hospice for taking wonderful care of Betty.  Betty donated her body to science at WVU.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth, WV.  The family will meet friends and family from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with a service at 3:00pm with Pastor Danny Schreckengost officiating.
