Dorothy L. Hopkins 87, of Elizabeth entered the Gates of Heaven March 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born in Roane Co., the daughter of the late Raymond and Lacy (Cunningham) Miller.  She was the wife of the late Rev. Elverson R. Hopkins.  They started a church in Elizabeth in 1969.  Dorothy was the true definition of a "Christian Lady" from supporting her husband, her children and praising her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and most of all, going to church.  She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Rev. Daniel Hopkins (Adriene), Rev. Timothy Hopkins (Jannie), Lisa Belt (Rodney), Donald Hopkins (Diane), Robyn Hopkins, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was proceeded in death by 2 grandsons, Joshua Boggs and Anthony Hopkins, 1 great grandson Carson Pauley, 2 brothers David and Bruce Miller, 4 sisters Carole Hinkle, Mary Stevens, Judy Ruble, and Karen Smith.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday March 17, 2025, at Calvary Apostolic Church of Elizabeth.  Visitation will be Sunday March 16, 2025, from 4-8PM and 11AM until time of service, Monday.  Matheny Whited Funeral Home is honored to assist the family.
