Edwin Cain Snider, 95, of Elizabeth, WV, passed away December 4, 2024, at the Elizabeth Care Center.  He was born October 6, 1929, in Elizabeth, WV, to the late Merrell and Florence Cain Snider.  He was a 1947 graduate of Wirt County High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from E. I. DuPont after 30 years where he was a shift electrician. He also worked with Gregg Busch at Busch Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Mr. Snider was a member of AF & AM Wirt Lodge #82 for over 60 years and most recently recognized as the oldest living Past Master of the lodge, a member of Wirt Chapter #113 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and a Past Patron, a charter member of the Wirt County EMS with 25+ years of service and a attended the Elizabeth United Methodist Church.  Along with his wife Annabelle, he was a "snowbird" traveling to Florida for over 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Annabelle Snider, a brother Richard Snider, a sister Eleanor Sims, a daughter-in-law Carolyn Snider and a son-in-law Jim Lewis.

He is survived by his children Beth (Eric) Daugherty of Elizabeth, Mike (Christie) Snider of Elizabeth, Melody (Larry) Franklin of Ravenswood and Brenda (Bob) Stickley of Summersville; grandchildren Bryon (Niki) Garrett of Elizabeth, Kristin (Greg) Harper of Summersville, Nick (Kelly) Snider of Elizabeth, Brady (Allyson) Lewis of Jane Lew and Megan (David) Robinson of Huntington; step-grandchildren Seth (Alexis) Villers, Wade (Bradley) Villers and Brian (Kate) Franklin; great-grandchildren Zach Garrett of Williamstown, Noah (Mahala) Garrett of Elizabeth, Aaron (Cassidy McFee) Garrett of Elizabeth, Lauren Snider of Elizabeth, Derek Snider of Elizabeth,  Liam Harper of Summersville, Oliver Harper of Summersville, Griffin Robinson of Huntington, Skylar Robinson of Huntington and step-granddaughter Samantha Franklin; step-great granddaughter Annie Villers; a great-great granddaughter Claire Garrett and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be at Matheny Whited Funeral Home, Elizabeth, WV, Sunday December 8, 2024, 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00.  Funeral services will be Monday, December 9, 11:00 am with military rites.  Masonic funeral will be conducted at the gravesite.  Interment will be in K of P Cemetery in Elizabeth, WV.  Arrangements are in the care of John H Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, WV.
