Jack Ludell McCarty, 74, of Palestine, WV, formerly of Van, WV, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on October 31, 2024, after a long illness.

He was a cancer survivor and battled agent orange for more than 22 years. Ludell was a 1967 graduate of Van High School. after high school, he joined the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. A retired Coal Miner from Eastern Associated Coal/Peabody Coal Company, member of UMWA, member of VFW Post 5578, and was an avid hunter and fisherman,

In 1997, Ludell gave his life to the Lord. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church of Reedy, WV and served as the Sunday School Superintendent until his health made him unable.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and June McCarty and mother and father-in-law Floyd and Arcella Ball.

Survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail Ball McCarty. sons: Kevin (Mary) and Nick (Miranda) McCarty. Grandsons: Dakota, Matthew, Jax, Braxton and Jarod (Cloey). Granddaughters: Brailynn and Jaylen. great-granddaughter: Osha. Sisters: Sherry McCarty, Brother-in-laws: Fred and Donald Ball. Nephew: Josh (Katelyn). Great nieces: Katelyn and Abigail. Dear Friend: Ivan Puckett and 3 beloved fur babies Korkie, Ellie May and Josie.

Services will be 2:00PM, Monday, November 4, 2024, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth, WV with Rev. John Price officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service on Monday. Burial with Military rights will follow at New Home Cemetery (Mayberry). Palestine WV.
