Katrina
Rhoades
Jun 27, 1958 — Jan 29, 2024
Katrina Rhoades , 65 of Palestine WV
Monday January 29, 2024 God called one of his most fervently faithful home. Katrina Rhoades was born June 27, 1958. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, James Edwin Rhoades, the fulfilled promise of her boots. Her eldest son is Jezrahiah Alogla and wife April, her daughter Rachel Rhoades, son Jimmy Rhoades, son Isaac Alogla, son Jesse Rhoades. Her adored grandchildren are Kaiah and Karis Alogla. Yet her motherhood far surpassed the children she gave birth to or were grafted under her wing by marriage. She is survived also by her father Darrel Stewart, and brothers Jim and David Stewart, and sisters-in-law Margie and Dena.
I am woman, hear me roar! At 12 years old I listened to my mother as she stood before a large crowd of strangers telling her testimony. My mother was vivacious and her ability to use her influence to share the love of God was remarkable. There was never an interaction I witnessed that was not encompassed by her love for her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She was a dreamer who dared to dream what seemed like impossible dreams. The giddy school girl would come out when she watched those very dreams unfold. If you were to ask her what her greatest accomplishment was, she would probably tell you it was helping souls find their way to Jesus and right behind that would be bringing her children up in the way they should go. It would take a book to tell all the tales I heard growing up and another book to tell all the tales I witnessed with my own eyes. Perhaps I will be able to write her story one day and do some justice to the book she always promised us. Her love was fierce and her heart was genuine. Her connections with people across this earth were cherished beyond measure. Words were her friend and she used them to touch as many lives as she could. Her voice was beautiful and carried praise into many hearts. Even in her darkest moments her lips would utter praise to God. As a young girl she was nicknamed Elle May for her endearing love for all God's creatures. She saw the beauty in every creation great and small. She indeed lived a fascinating and remarkable life.
There will be no services. Matheny Whited Funeral Home of ELizabeth WV was honored to serve the Rhoades family.
