Wanda Lee
(Sis) Miller
Sep 16, 1928 — Apr 27, 2026
Wanda Lee "Sis" Miller, 97, of Joker, West Virginia, passed away on April 27, 2026, at WVU Medicine Camden Clark.
She was born on September 16, 1928, in Joker, Calhoun County, West Virginia, to the late Lexie and Dollie (Hughes) Miller. Following the early passing of her mother, her father later married Opal Miller.
Wanda was a devoted homemaker who truly loved caring for her family. She found joy in the simple things in life, especially watching Days of Our Lives, swinging on her front porch swing, and tending to her vegetable garden. She cherished her home and the life she built there, and she never strayed far from the "holler" she loved so dearly.
Wanda is survived by her loving children, Sharon (Harold) Villers, Doris Shrader, Gary Miller, Terry (Brenda) Miller, and Ronnie Miller; one brother, Arnold Lee "Johnny" Miller; and her grandchildren, Tammy (Dwayne) Dawson, Randy (Melissa) Shrader, Scott Arthur, Kelly Arthur-Ludwig, Jennifer (Roger) Patterson, Janifer (Jason) Williams and Stephanie (Rob) Parsons. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.
In addition to her parents and her stepmother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Lee Miller; her sisters, Mary Lee Parsons, Janet Lee Thomas, and Barbara Lee Riggs; a granddaughter, Peggy Lynn Arthur; and her sons-in-law, Larry Arthur and Ronald Shrader.
Visitation will be held at Matheny Whited Funeral Home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held the same day at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Bruce officiating. Interment will follow at Bryner Chapel Cemetery in Joker, Calhoun County, West Virginia.
