Christina Evans
Owner/Operator
Christina Evans is the owner of Matheny Whited Funeral Home and is proud to continue a family legacy of service that has been a part of Wirt County for generations. As the granddaughter of Harry Matheny, Christina carries forward the values of compassion, integrity, and dedication that her grandfather established through his years of caring for families in their time of need.
Harry Matheny devoted his life to serving the community and built the funeral home facility that remains the home of Matheny Whited Funeral Home today. Although Harry passed away in 2005, his legacy lives on through the funeral home, the families he served, and the traditions he established. Christina considers it a privilege to continue serving families in the very building her grandfather built, preserving the personal touch and commitment to excellence that he believed in.
The Matheny family has been involved in funeral service in Wirt County for decades, and Christina remains dedicated to honoring that heritage while meeting the needs of today's families. Alongside Chris Evans, who has served families through the funeral home since 2007, she continues the tradition of providing compassionate care, guidance, and support during life's most difficult moments.
Christina's commitment to the funeral home is deeply personal. She and her late husband, Randy Evans, shared a love for their community and a passion for helping others. Randy passed away on February 8, 2022, but his memory and dedication to the people of Wirt County continue to inspire the work carried on at the funeral home each day.
Today, Christina is proud to lead Matheny Whited Funeral Home while continuing the legacy her grandfather set before her. She remains committed to ensuring that every family who walks through the doors of the funeral home is treated with dignity, respect, and the same compassionate care that has defined the Matheny family tradition for generations.
